Are you looking for an opportunity to see your creative vision come to life? We are searching for a highly creative photographer to help us build an impactful visual identity for our six leading British homewares brands.

You will be working closely with our Product, Brand and Marketing teams to deliver high-quality images and video for all marketing collateral including catalogues, packaging, social media, in-store materials and digital content.

Duties

  • Brainstorming ideas and researching trends for photography and videography across our brand portfolio, keeping up-to-date with new techniques, developments and industry trends
  • Managing the photography calendar, including scheduling of work
  • Working to brief with the brand, product and marketing teams to deliver first-class imagery and video content for all marketing collateral including supporting campaign specific work
  • Preparing the studio, styling, sourcing props and coming up with new creative ideas for shoots, suggesting improvements or recommendations where necessary
  • To be responsible for the photography studio and maintenance including all equipment, props and backgrounds. Ordering additional equipment / software if required
  • Considering seasonal trends, helping to develop storylines for the brands and different media
  • Managing and processing images, including cut outs, checking quality, preparing proofs for approval and saving of images to a central library, including being responsible for the organisation of the image library
  • Developing expertise with software to digitally enhance images by, for example, changing emphasis, cropping images, correcting minor faults with Photoshop or moving objects around
  • Plan, film and edit video’s to enrich brands and highlight particular ranges
  • Occasionally on-location shoots will be necessary so some travel may be required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of photography experience in a studio or professional environment (required).

Skills and Competencies

  • Creative flair; able to generate new ideas, style and compose shoots, understanding framing, colour, composition and light to create visually impactful imagery
  • Good understanding of lighting techniques, with ideas for new ways to approach the subject to give different illusions
  • Good understanding of photography processes
  • Has a strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator etc.) for editing, retouching and manipulating images and can pick up new tools quickly
  • Ideally has a good understanding of Final Cut Pro to cut, edit and create engaging video content
  • Ability to work to brief where required, but the confidence to also work off-brief when needed
  • Experience of creating moodboards and shoot plans
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring all imagery and videos are perfect
  • Team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide others when necessary (i.e. suggesting different ways to approach a shoot), with the ability to communicate and present ideas clearly
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own workload and manage the photography calendar in a busy, fast-faced studio environment, with superior time management skills
  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Ideally an active interest in related topics such as design, homewares, food and fashion
  • Food styling experience would be beneficial, but not mandatory
