Price & Kensington have donated a range of kitchenware to Garston C of E primary school in Liverpool. The school is introducing a breakfast club for children who receive free school meals as part of the national scheme, Magic Breakfast. The club, which will start at 8am during school terms, will be offered free to children who already receive free school meals, and charged at the cost of 50p a day to children who don’t.Gill Rogerson, Head of School at Garston primary school said “It is brilliant that Price & Kensington are supplying the kitchenware. With limited funding and with such a lot of children attending the school the kitchenware will definitely be put to good use! The teaching staff are running the club out of their own time and Magic breakfast will be providing the food for 12 months.”
Magic Breakfast is a UK charity, dedicated to ensuring every child starts the day with a healthy breakfast as fuel for learning. They already supply free nutritious meals to over 8,500 children in 242 primary schools.
Luis Cummings, a pupil from Garston C of E primary school said “My favourite thing to eat in the morning is pancakes. I’m looking forward to the breakfast club because I’ll be able to have breakfast with all my friends.”
It is crucial that children have a healthy breakfast every morning to aid concentration and development.
